Dentist in Centreville Smiles | Damita Edwards

Dr. Damita Edwards received her BA in biological sciences from Northwestern University in 1983 and graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1987, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Edwards completed a General Practice Residency in hospital dentistry at Hubbard Hospital, Meharry Medical College. While there, she both increased her knowledge and enhanced her clinical skills in endodontics, (root canals), periodontics (treatment of gums), oral surgery and restorative dentistry. This provided an exceptional training experience from which to build the foundation for her pursuit of excellence in general dentistry. During her
tenure at Hubbard Hospital, she served as Chief Dental Resident and was appointed to the faculty of Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry.

Dr. Edwards is a family dentist who regularly performs crown and bridge work, implant restorations, root canals, extractions, children’s dentistry, dentures, and many other common dental procedures. Her emphasis is on all aspects of cosmetic dentistry and the prevention of oral disease. Dr. Edwards strives to keep her patients comfortable and well informed on how to obtain optimum oral health. She continues her commitment to post graduate education through regular participation in dental continuing education courses.

Community service is very important to Dr. Edwards and she has received honors and recognition for her commitment to health through volunteerism and participation in international mission work. She makes it her mission to help everyone in need including donating dental products to the less fortunate. Dr. Edwards resides in Chantilly, VA with her husband Robby, daughter Makayla and her dog Tobi. 

In her spare time she enjoys traveling to different countries around the world especially the continent of Africa. She also enjoys spending her free time with her family.
